Planning a Trip to Egypt
Most first trips to Egypt fail in the same place: not in choosing what to see, but in the joins between things. The transfers, the drives, the arrival, the day the hotel changes city. That is the part we do.
The mistake nearly everyone makes
People plan Egypt as a list of sights and then discover the country is much bigger than the map suggested. Cairo to Luxor is not a day trip. Hurghada to the Pyramids is not an afternoon. The Red Sea resorts are a long way from anything pharaonic.
The result is an itinerary that looks reasonable in a spreadsheet and is exhausting in practice — three cities in five days, most of it spent in transit, arriving everywhere too tired to enjoy it.
What we actually handle
Arrival: Fast Track and meet-and-assist at Cairo, Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and Borg El Arab, so the first hour in the country is not spent in an immigration queue.
Ground transport: airport transfers, private cars and drivers by the day, and the long intercity legs — Cairo to Alexandria, the Red Sea coast, the run down to Luxor. For a family, a car over these distances is often both cheaper and less painful than several domestic air fares.
Hotels: we book hotels and resorts across Cairo, Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, Alexandria and Luxor.
And on request, private guided day tours — arranged over WhatsApp rather than sold as a fixed package, because the right day depends on who is travelling.
A shape that tends to work
Land in Cairo. Give the Pyramids and Saqqara a full morning of their own, early. Give the city a separate day — the Egyptian Museum and Islamic Cairo are not an afternoon's work.
Then go one place, not three. Either the Nile, or the Red Sea. Doing both in a single short trip is how people end up spending their holiday in transit.
That is advice, not a package. If you want to do it differently, tell us and we will make the transport work around your plan rather than the other way round.
Talk to a person
There is no online form that can sensibly plan a first trip to Egypt for a family of five with an elderly parent and a toddler. So we do not pretend there is.
Message Layali ElQahera on WhatsApp with your dates, who is travelling and what you want to see. We are based in Cairo, we have been doing this since 2019, and we will tell you honestly if what you are planning will not work.
Frequently asked questions
Can you plan my whole Egypt itinerary?
We plan and run the transport spine — arrivals, Fast Track, transfers, private drivers, intercity legs — and book hotels. Guided day tours are arranged on request. Message us on WhatsApp with your dates and we will build it around what you actually want.
Is it better to fly or drive between Egyptian cities?
It depends on the leg and the group. For a family, a private car over Cairo–Alexandria or Hurghada–Luxor is frequently more comfortable and no more expensive than several air fares, and you keep your luggage with you.
How many days do I need in Egypt?
For Cairo alone, three full days is a sensible minimum — one for Giza and Saqqara, one for the city, one spare. Adding either the Nile or the Red Sea sensibly means a week. Adding both means a fortnight, or a rushed holiday.
Do you book hotels as well as transport?
Yes — hotels and resorts across Cairo, Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, Alexandria and Luxor, bookable through the site.
We're travelling with children and an elderly parent. Can you help?
Yes, and it is worth telling us that up front. It changes the vehicle, the pacing and whether meet-and-assist at the airport is worth having (it usually is).
