Hurghada Airport Transfer — Private Car to Your Red Sea Hotel

The Red Sea coast is longer than it looks

"Hurghada" on a booking confirmation can mean a hotel in Hurghada town, or it can mean El Gouna twenty-five kilometres north, or Makadi Bay, Sahl Hasheesh or Soma Bay to the south. Some of these are the better part of an hour from the terminal along the coastal road.

That distance is exactly why the transfer matters. It is a long enough drive that the car you are in, and whether it has working air conditioning, is something you will notice.

Charter arrivals and the taxi rank

Hurghada handles a lot of charter traffic, which means arrivals are lumpy — several hundred people clear the terminal within the same twenty minutes, all looking for the same thing. If you have not pre-booked, you are in that scrum.

A pre-booked driver is standing in arrivals with your name on a board while the queue forms behind you. The price was agreed before you flew, so there is no negotiation in 38-degree heat with your luggage on the pavement.

Travelling on to Luxor or Cairo

Plenty of visitors combine a Red Sea stay with the Nile. Hurghada to Luxor is a long but perfectly manageable road journey, and it is a genuine alternative to backtracking through Cairo on a domestic flight — particularly for a family, where four or five air fares quickly exceed the cost of a car.

Fast Track at Hurghada
